Sibisibi Studio is a design & craft studio where designer Ju-kyoung Ahn and metal craftsman Yumin Jeon team up

to organize and explore materials and processes based on four concepts: Special, Individual, Basic, and Intuitive.

Although our work is based in metalwork, we are not limited to the genre, and explore a variety of other materials that can be combined with metal.

When we combine materials, we seek to utilize the characteristics of each material and the identity of the object in question,

discovering different properties and textures through an understanding of the materials and researching what objects they are suitable for.

This process can start from simple curiosity and is inspired by a variety of concepts.

We want the objects we create to derive the combination of senses through the user's surroundings and the unconscious actions of the user using our objects.

We want our objects to reflect the time spent with the user, to reflect their personality.

We want to showcase our work in combination with a variety of other materials without compromising the depth of the underlying metalwork, building our own broad spectrum.

TABLE STAND LIGHITING

W 244.5                STAINLESS STEEL

D 137                    PLA

H 400                    E14 BULB

Unlike the FLAT series, which expands the PLA panels with aluminum connectors, we wanted to hide the exposed connections between the panels.

The design is based on the wood panel method, commonly known as louver in wood materials. The PLA panels are interlocked in a male and female manner,

and the connections are not visible when the panels are expanded by making a uniform groove in the panels like a connection. In this geometry,

the uniform grooves create an aesthetic similar to the "joints" found in tiles and louvers.

FLAT ROOM DIVIDER

W 1055                 ALUMINIUM

D 230                    STAINLESS STEEL

H 1610                  PLA

The room divider was created to more intuitively express the aesthetic elements of PLA that are revealed when exposed to natural light.

We wanted to give the folding and unfolding mechanism a conscious act of the user, and designed a movement structure inspired by the Caesar hinge.

LOUNGE CHAIR

W 666                   STAINLESS STEEL

D 790                    PLA

H 830

In designing the FLAT Lounge Chair, we hoped that the combination of metal and PLA would go beyond mere decoration and hold intrinsic value.
By leveraging the sturdiness of metal and replacing the parts closely connected to the user's body with PLA, we introduced a new level of comfort and experience.

SIDE TABLE

W 450                   ALUMINIUM

D 450                    PLA

H 500

The ST 002 focuses on the way the glass is held in place. Its predecessor, the St-001,

was intended to be easier to ship to customers living overseas and could be disassembled and stacked flat.

With St-002, we wanted to keep the characteristics of St-001 and improve on the weak or unsatisfactory parts.

We will continue to work on things like the stable connection structure of the table top and legs, and the weight of the table.

FLOOR STAND LIGHTING

W 200                   STAINLESS STEEL

D 200                    ALUMINIUM

H 1800                  PLA

FL 001 focused on the mobility of the light head. We used the tension of the wire, which allows the light to be moved and fixed vertically.

By adjusting the tension of the wire and the triangularly placed bolts on the side of the light head, the fixation strength of the head can be adjusted.
